If you wish to cancel or change your order before it ships, please email as soon as possible, and we will do our best to accommodate you, but if the order is packed and shipped, it can unfortunately not be canceled. Changes to your order are not possible.

In-stock products will ship within 3 business days from time the order is placed. Tracking details will be sent to your email address as soon as your order is ready to leave our warehouse. Allow approximately 2 weeks for delivery to your home if located within the continental United States. Shipments to Alaska and Hawaii, as well as out-of-stock items, may take longer to deliver. 

Most orders ship via UPS or FedEx.

If the unfortunate situation arises that you have received a wrong or defective item, please email our service team at Please attach a copy of your order and a photo of the defect or mis-shipped item.

Tracking your order status prior to shipment is not possible, but when your order is fulfilled, shipment tracking will be sent via email. Use this tracking information to track via the shipper’s website.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to buy fabric samples. 

We understand that you may change your mind! We accept returns on Frames and accessories within 30 days from the reception date if the frame or accessories are in new condition with original packaging. There is no return fee but you must take care of shipping. Please be sure to keep all packaging, including boxes, for 30 days.

For Mattresses however, for obvious hygienic reasons we accept returns within 30 days from the reception date only if the mattress is in its original, unopened packaging.

As soon as you have made the decision to return your product, please contact us at

. We will provide you with a Return Authorization (RA). You will then be responsible for packaging the product and shipping it back to us.

Refunds are processed within 14 days after we received the product back.

For Special Orders – products that have been produced on-demand especially for you, like a mattress of a special non-standard color for example – sales are final and products are unfortunately not returnable. Don’t worry, Special Orders are indicated as such on top of the Product page, you cannot miss it.

No. Karup Design products are not assembled when delivered. Our product range is made up of knock-down furniture. This way our products take up less space during transportation and lead to more 'efficient miles'.

When you start assembling your Karup Design product you can follow the instruction you receive in the package or find it here.

Since we mainly have online retailers, we do not have stores for you to try out a Karup Design product. What we do have is videos showing you the functionalities of the furniture unfolding. 

You might notice a zipper on our futon mattresses. Though, this is not for taking off the covers of the futon mattresses. When sewed by hand, buttons or quilts are fixed in the futon mattresses to keep the filling in place. As an advice, we recommend that you use a sheet when sleeping on your futon mattress. In that way, you extend the life and beauty of your futon mattress.

Yes, it can. Even though we design our beds to fit a futon bed mattress, you can use a regular mattress in the bed frame. Please be aware that we do not take responsibility for the fit or the look in this matter. The mattress size measure fitting the bed frame is available on each product page of the bed category. The 'Size' of the Karup Design bed defined the mattress measures that fit into the frame of the bed.

The composition of the fabrics is made of 80 % cotton and 20 % polyester.
