About the design

Our traditional futon is a 13 cm thick cotton bed mattress. By applying 5-10% polyester to our cotton, we ensure the higher density and thickness of our futons compared to traditional Japanese futon bedding. However, it still inherits all the good qualities of a traditional Japanese futon. The Traditional futon will give you firm sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon will adjust itself to your body and support it.

Note that all of our futon products are handmade, so you might notice small differences in size and weight.

Care guide

To help protect your mattress and keep it neat, we recommend using a sheet.

To ensure that the futon retains its shape, is well ventilated, and stays even, you should turn and rotate it regularly. We recommend that you turn the futon 180 degrees, swapping the head and foot ends, approximately every 3 to 4 weeks.

If needed, the surface can be vacuumed to remove dust. For stains, use a slightly damp, colorless cloth with a small amount of clear dish soap. Gently dab the affected area and remove excess moisture with a dry cloth or paper towel.
